Tips for a
Successful Application
It is important that
you read the applicant directions
carefully and follow them exactly.
Completing the entire application
properly is very important as it is
your first chance to present your
skills to hiring managers.
Hiring managers thoroughly review
the information on job applications
and resumes when deciding who to
invite for job interviews. Please
keep in mind that hiring managers
will judge the appearance of an
application and resume as a clue to
how much importance you put on the
quality of your work.
10 Common Mistakes to Avoid:
1. Not following
applicant directions
2. Failure to complete all sections
of the online application
3. Incomplete work history, or
large unexplained gaps in work
history
4. Overlapping or conflicting
employment dates with no explanation
5. Misspelled words
6. Failure to submit supporting
application documents (i.e.
transcripts, high school diploma,
reference
forms, certificates, etc.)
7. Failure to list at least 3
references references
8. Failure to list current or most
recent employer as a reference
9. Failure to read and check
application for accuracy and
completeness prior to submission
10. Failure to answer each of the
application questions honestly
Your completed application is a
reflection of you. Make it a good
one!

and financial aid.
The District is
working to minimize
the use of Social
Security numbers
within its business
